Heck of a Half-Term Holiday!!!

My holiday was very boring. I stayed in Ugnda, and not just places like Jinja or Entebbe, I stayed in Kampala and spent the whole weekend cooking with my mom. In the mornings we would make oatmeal and eggs (but mostly oatmeal because my mom said it was healthy). For lunch we would have Mac and cheese, spaghetti and tomato sauce or noodles. Though the three were my top 3 favorite foods, I kept on wishing that the first day back to school would come because I was getting pretty sick and tired of my mom and our cooking. And that was only the first three days! On the 4th, my mom decided to meet the neighbors in D9- I live in D4. In D9 lived 2 girls, a mom, an aunt and a maid. The 2 girls went to Aga Khan. One was 8 and one was 4. They’re names will now be disguised as Ashley (older) and Madeline (younger). Of course my mom wasn’t going to leave me alone at home. So, I had to go with her. I did not like the visit one BIT! First of all, the 4 year old could NOT stop talking and the 8 year constantly asked me to read for her. I had no choice but to read. My mom forced me to go to Ashley and Madeline’s room. The book Ashley wanted me to read was a REALLY short fairytale book, Thumbelina. It had really big words like this font size (36).

The girls pretended that I was the teacher and they were the students along with their stuffed animals. As I figured, Madeline would just be talking and talking. I imagined that she was exercising her mouth to entertain myself. But that didn’t help. As soon as dawn came, I was SO relieved that I never had to go back to their house. For the rest of the week, I stayed home and continued eating my mom’s oatmeal, Mac and Cheese and Noodles.
